History has immortalized the stories and legends of the city of "Layli" in Saudi Arabia. This city, which has an eternal story of love around the world, is located 300 kilometers south of the Saudi capital Riyadh in the "Al-Aflaj" district.

The name of the mentioned city is attributed to the name of "Layli", the beloved of "Qais" in a famous love story of Arab history. According to historians, the incident of "Qais and Laila" took place in the first century of Hijri, i.e. between 24 AH to 68 AH (645 AH to 688 AH). That time, during the Umayyad period, was the time of the rule of Marwan bin Al-Hakim and Abdul Malik bin Marwan.

In Arab history, there are two lovers named Qais. Among them, the first "Qays bin Al-Maluh" was the lover of Laila, who is being mentioned in these lines, while the second "Qays bin Zareeh" was in love with another woman, "Libni".

Among the titles bestowed upon Qays ibn al-Maluh, "Majnaun" is the most famous. He was not a madman but was given this name because of his mad love for his beloved Laila Al-Amaria. Qais grew up with his beloved Laila and fell in love with her, but Laila's family refused to marry him to Qais. As a result, Qays used to recite poems related to Layla in Najd, Syria, and Hijaz in the guise of diwans.

Laila's family married their daughter to a male relative who took her to Taif. However, the grief of Laila's separation took a toll on Qais's face and he began to wander around the land.

It is said that Qays' father took his son on Hajj to pray to Allah that his son would come out of the disease of Laila's love. On reaching Baitullah, Qais' father said to his son, "Go and hold the cover of Baitullah and pray that Allah will save you from the love of Laila." Qays went and holding the cover of Baitullah started praying, "O Allah, increase the love of Laila in my heart and I will never forget her".

"Jabal-e-To bad" located in Wadi al-Ghail near the city of Laili in Saudi Arabia became immortalized in history because of Qais bin Al-Maluh. On this mountain, there is a cave called "Ghar-i Qais". It was a meeting place for lovers. New age lovers have written their names on its walls.

Many famous Arab poets have mentioned this "Mountain of Repentance" in their poetry.

People from the Indian community in Riyadh frequently visit this mountain and write their names on the wall of the famous cave. The reason for this is that in an Indian TV report, pictures of Jabal-e-Tobad were shown along with the story of Leila Majnu.

Some figures who draw attention to Arabic literature have demanded that the site be re-corrected, especially as it has been disfigured by different colored writings. According to these personalities, in this way, this place will be able to bring back the memory of the story of love immortalized in history
